    After more than 17 years of serving businesses and nonprofit organizations, Susan Smylie of The Box Web Design has announced her retirement.

    Since founding The Box Web Design in 2009, Susan has helped countless organizations establish and grow their online presence. Her dedication to personalized service, dependable website hosting, and lasting client relationships has been at the heart of her business.

    As Susan begins this well-deserved next chapter, we’re pleased to announce that M7 Web Studios is taking over The Box Web Design and continuing to support its clients.

    A Transition Built on Trust

    This transition is about more than simply handing over a business. It’s the continuation of a professional relationship built on years of collaboration, mutual respect, and shared values.

    Susan and M7 Web Studios founder Adam Moehrig first connected in 2019 while organizing the 2020 San Antonio WordCamp, a local conference dedicated to the WordPress community. When the COVID-19 pandemic forced the conference to move online with less than two weeks’ notice, they worked together to help make that transition successful.

    Their collaboration eventually led to the creation of Virtual Productions, a business dedicated to helping organizations host virtual conferences and events. Although that venture concluded in 2022, the experience established a strong working relationship and reinforced their shared commitment to quality work and exceptional client service.

    When Susan began considering retirement, she knew that Adam and M7 Web Studios would be a natural fit to continue caring for her clients.

    What This Means for Existing Clients

    The goal is simple: maintain the dependable service you’ve come to expect while making the transition as seamless as possible. M7 Web Studios shares many of the same approaches to website management, hosting, and client support that have defined The Box Web Design. For existing clients:
    • Your existing agreements will be honored. Current hosting arrangements and service agreements will remain in place.
    • Your website hosting is in good hands. M7 Web Studios is transitioning websites to an upgraded hosting environment designed to provide improved performance, security, and reliability. This transition will be managed for you, with no action required on your part.
    • Your hosting renewal schedule will stay the same. If you’ve prepaid for annual hosting, your next payment will not be due until your regularly scheduled renewal date.
    • You’ll continue receiving personalized support. M7 Web Studios is committed to providing the same attentive, dependable service that Susan’s clients have come to appreciate.
    While the name and primary point of contact will change, our priority is to ensure continuity and a positive experience for every client.
